A380 Airbus Order by Emirate

Dubai based airline – Emirate – has ordered another set of 32 A380 airbuses. This will bring it to a today of 90 A380s. According to the CEO the deal was borne out of the desire for customers’ comfort and enjoyment. "The A380 is our flagship in terms of passenger comfort, innovation, operating and environmental efficiency and revenue generation.” he said.

The deal was sealed at the Air Show in Berlin by Airbus President and CEO, Tom Enders, and Emirates' Chairman and CEO Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al-Maktoum and cost the airline a whooping $11.5bn.


A380 Airbus for Japan Travellers

In a related story, Air France has unveiled plans to start using the A380 superjumbo for her Paris-Tokyo Narita route as from September 2010 but with full and regular flight as from October. This will most probably be a reaction to one of her European rival – Germany’s Lufthansa’s official launch of the same superjumbo flight next Friday on this same route. If this should be successful then Lufthansa would be the first European airline to use the A380 for a Tokyo route.

According to Air France this will takeoff three times a week and this would be on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Finnair will be offering travelers between Stockholm and Helsinki a fast route offer as from August 18 with one flight on Sundays and two flights per business day into Bromma airport.

6. Security fees for Transportation Security Administration. This was created by Congress after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, these fees cost customers $2.50 per boarding, with a $5 maximum per one-way trip, even with multiple segments.
