During the Berlin IATA annual summit, the CEO of British Airways - Willie Walsh - gave his unshaken stand on his decision not to play to the demands of the Union. He said he won’t back down. Cabin crew members of BA had embarked on a strike since last May 2010. He said he would fight with all necessary tools to break the back of the Union.
While news from the airline’s website apologized for her present plights in not being able to deliver services to her customers, he was quoted as saying “I don’t think we’ve ever been brave enough in the past to stand up and say ‘No’”... and this will continue for “for as long as it takes”.
In this year alone the airline has suffered a total of 21 days of the strike till date and according to reliable sources BA is losing about £7million a day from these walkouts which will amount to £147million for this year alone!
Since a recent time BA has recorded a considerable amount of loses from its operation and we believe this will not be unconnected to his decision. Our plight goes to the customers who would have to suffer flight cancellations. We pray that things are settled amicably so both parties can put a smile on peoples face.
